- Municipal/ Local Authorities need to make a planned programme of social inclusion activity introducing key cultural places and events for young people readily available for new arrivals, especially those who arrive unaccompanied with no support network.
- A named coordinator needs to be appointed to oversee the programme and act as a broker between the arts and cultural offers of the city and those who support new arrivals.
- Cultural and arts organisations need access to training to understand how best to include children and young people from refugee backgrounds, and to create opportunities for engagement with the wider public.
- There need to be clear mechanisms for signposting relevant social inclusion activity to new arrivals and these need to involve all stakeholders who support refugee and asylum-seekers.
The work produced during this planned programme needs to be exhibited virtually on social media or physically in public spaces to showcase the potential contributions of young new arrivals to our cities.
